Producers seeking a permit for their operation must develop a manure management plan and submit it when they submit their permit application.

NRCS Tool for annual nutrient management plan with phosphorus assessment tool (form SD-CPA-8). Enable macros upon opening. (Note: This link goes to a NRCS website). Producers with EQIP contracts or using fields with elevated phosphorus levels should use this worksheet to calculate annual application rates. These calculations must be completed before land application of manure is performed and a copy of all calculations must be kept as per permit requirements.
