South Dakota Stratigraphic Correlation Chart (Oil & Gas Investigation 1). The chart depicts a chronostratigraphic classification for the geologic strata within the various 
geologic basins and areas in the state (click on chart to expand). The full sized chart is also available in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format for viewing and downloading, but be aware the size of the file is 9.3 megabytes, so it may take several minutes to download and open.
These maps are Graphics Interchange Format (gif) images for viewing (click on map to expand), and are updated periodically. The maps in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format are for viewing and printing larger size and scale plots (click on 
), and are updated on a monthly, or as needed, basis. The PDF files can be printed in sizes from 8.5x11 in. to 34x44 in., but the scale is set to the largest size plot. To view the PDF files you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software. If you do not have the software, you can click on the link below to get a free copy.
The maps are also available by mail order (including key with well locations and data) from our office. The paper sizes and costs are listed below. Costs for larger scale plots will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
