| The purpose of this document is to provide information and guidance to communities on how to develop local wellhead protection programs. This document specifies the components necessary for a complete program, describes the steps to follow to develop the program, and reveals the process through which the local wellhead protection program can receive concurrence from the SD DENR that the local program is complete and adequate. The cases involve protective measures for large and small industries (petroleum pipeline, service stations and industrial septic system drainfields) and activities protecting against agricultural chemicals and feedlot waste.
