SD Brownfields Legislation
 

The 2004 session of the South Dakota State Legislature passed HB 1175 authorizing the establishment of a brownfields revitalization and economic development program including two funds - the brownfields cleanup revolving loan fund and the brownfields assessment and cleanup fund.  The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has been directed to develop rules for the administration of these funds which will be funded through grants from the Environmental Protection Agency's Brownfields Program.   The fund is still in the developmental phase but a draft fact sheet is available.
